Between 2011 and 2015, Beijing subway systems extended its service coverage rapidly, and the total number of daily passengers significantly increased. But it is unclear whether a better jobs-housing balance emerged under the network evolution. This paper proposed a method to evaluate the ratio of jobs to housing unit at transit station level. Based on individual smart card datasets, the method has investigated the daily commuting trips more accurately. Moreover, we performed a year-to-year analysis to understand the overall performance of Beijing subway network.
