Transdisciplinary work offers more opportunities for spatial analysis, but exposes conceptual problems. The lack of a general conceptual foundation for spatial analysis impedes its application to a wide range of problems from various disciplines. Users are required to be proficient in spatial analysis before they can put it into practice, because of the difficulties of discovering, understanding, and using operations, complex conversions between data formats, and so forth. We use a data-driven method to analyze the key operations in spatial analysis, offering a promising way to alleviate these problem.
