In recent years, China has achieved great success in economy. We think China’s growth experience may provide reference for other developing countries. We analyze China’s export evolution in three perspectives systematically, which include export diversification in the horizontal, comparative advantage in the longitudinal and its global position in the spatial. Network analysis is a new and popular method to study industry evolution. While many scholars study the evolution base on the static and unchanged global network, we think the network itself matters and study China’s specific evolution in dynamic global product space. Results showed, China’s export is becoming more diversified and its trade pattern has transformed from polarized pattern to relatively balanced pattern. In addition, China’s location is moving from the periphery to the three core clusters in the global product space. In the export evolution process, path dependence force have greater impact on the evolution of products than policy force except the Chemicals industry. National policy is the leading factor to drive their advantage for its Chemicals export.
