During the past twenty years, spectral mixture analysis has been widely applied in urban environments for extracting fractional land covers, particularly vegetation, impervious surface areas, and soil. This paper reviewed the applications of spectral mixture analysis in urban environments, and provided discussion regarding the problems and potentials of SMA applications.
