Time-sensitive transportation systems have received increasing research attention recently. In such systems, the worst-case route time among all origin-destination pairs represents the best-time guarantee that can be offered to customers and must be minimized for an organization to be competitive. The hub facilities in such networks, however, are vulnerable and can be lost due to a variety of reasons ranging from natural disasters to intentional attacks. This paper proposes a new model for analyzing the vulnerability of time-sensitive hub-and-spoke networks in terms of the worst-case scenario for losing hub facilities. An integer linear programming formulation is developed and tested computationally.
