The paper reflects on the implementation of mega-events - particularly the Olympics 2016 - in Rio de Janeiro, incorporating evaluation of the Olympic Games 2016 done by different social actors. The paper seeks to establish, in spite of being written in the heat of recently finalized Games, what would be the main social and spatial repercussions of this event. Henceforth, we seek to highlight not only aspects such as legacies and impacts but also possible changes in urban management, urban mobility, social and spatial structures, and political mobilization, among others.
