The problematic of this research is inserted in the recent studies focused on the Geography of Innovation, which seeks to understand the relationship between innovative production and the territory. Innovation is understood in research as a social process that involves learning and relationships between different social agents, especially highlighting the relationship between the State, private capital and teaching and research institutions. Innovation is an intersectoral activity par excellence and this research analyzed especially the spatial concentration of innovative industries and knowledge intensive services in Brazil. For this, in methodological terms, we used the statistical data of the Research of Innovation (PINTEC) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) with special attention the characterization of the Brazilian innovation process. The analysis of the data revealed a high spatial concentration of innovative production in the so - called Macrometropole region of São Paulo, a region formed by a set of 173 conurbated municipalities from the space metropolization process, thus constituting a territory of innovation in Brazil. The thesis presented here for the discussion is that this concentration in the region of the macrometropole of São Paulo produces a territorialization of the innovative process since the general conditions of production necessary for the development of interactive innovation are markedly concentrated in the macrometropole region of São Paulo.
