Geospatial Model Cloud: a framework of publishing Earth science model through OGC Web Services over cloud

This study investigates the feasibility of integrating Earth science model with standardized OGC Web Services and improving the performance of the model utilizing cloud infrastructure. A general framework, Geospatial Model Cloud, is designed and a prototype is developed. The implementation is composed of hardware layer, platform layer, service layer, and client layer. All services, model, and data are deployed as virtual machine instances, managed by GeoBrain Cloud and bridge by the CyberConnector. The result shows that publishing Earth science models through Geospatial Model Cloud framework would significantly improve its performance and provide great benefits to the Earth science modeling community.
