Having held the position of Graduate President at the University of Wyoming Geography Club/Gamma Theta Upsilon for ten months, there have been many opportunities to engage with student life on campus. Geography Awareness Week is the primary area in which Geography Club conducts outreach, but many of the recruits for the club are already geography students, and often are graduate students. To best understand what will best facilitate success for future iterations of this organization, the current officers of Geography Club sat down with Campus Activities Center to discuss potential future engagement and outreach opportunities. With a look at the literature on successful student engagement out of higher education and sociology, this observational poster will provide a path for future University of Wyoming Geography Club members to boost recruitment numbers, establish stronger links to other, similar student organizations, and better contribute to the local community of Laramie, Wyoming.
