This inaugural lecture will feature a talk by Richard Campanella, a geographer with the Tulane University School of Architecture. Prof. Campanella is the author of ten books and over 200 articles on the historical geography of New Orleans, Louisiana, and related topics. The winner of two Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities Book of the Year awards, the Tulane Honors Professor of the Year Award, and The Historic New Orleans Collection’s Williams Prize for Louisiana History, Campanella was also named Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques by the Government of France in 2016. he will be delivering a lecture entitled “Delta Z: New Orleans' Tempestuous Relationship with Its Topographic Elevation.”
