Part II of this session is designed to continue the discussion from Part I, exploring specific regional and contextual themes on positionality, gender, and fieldwork in greater depth through break-out groups. Topics of discussion will include: navigating power dynamics and research relationships in the field; motherhood and identity in fieldwork; safety and fieldwork in conflict-affected areas; and institutional support and training. Overall, the purpose of the panel is to support female graduate students to exchange ideas and draw from one another's experience. The conversation is meant to be inclusive of diverse fieldwork experiences, institutional backgrounds, and levels of expertise.
