Description

NASA's DEVELOP National Program takes a unique approach to cultivating the next generation of geographers and enhancing environmental management and public policy decision making around the globe. The program conducts rapid, interdisciplinary feasibility studies that apply NASA's Earth observing satellites and airborne missions to address real-world community concerns. This advances environmental understanding by improving the ability of the future geoscience workforce to recognize, understand, and address environmental issues facing communities. This session highlights six projects that apply NASA's Earth observations, GIS, and remote sensing techniques to a broad range of decision making processes related to disaster management, climate change impacts, water resource monitoring, and energy.
