In the current political climate, academics have increasingly come under attack on social media and in other venues for conducting research on topics ranging from climate science to postcolonial studies. The aim of this panel session is to critically examine the hostile attacks that scholars have experienced in recent years as well as explore strategies for cultivating solidarity in challenging hate speech, doxing, and personal harassment targeted at scholars in the age of social media.
