This workshop intentionally centers people of color, women, LGBTQ people, folks with disabilities, and other folks who tend to be marginalized as scholars within and beyond geography. We will cover how to create a digital presence, and even work with folks in advance to set up a Wordpress with their various institutions or to purchase a website (low cost for academics / especially students = should folks want. We will mostly focus on the various places to load our work, the politics of open access, and a 101 overview of copyright and legalese in sharing our work. We will conclude briefly by touching on using Twitter to connect folks to your work, how to get into writing op-eds and talking to journalists, and any other topic folks want.
