Movement is key to the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of dynamic processes in social and ecological systems. Analysis and modeling of movement trajectories are core elements of movement analytics across domains of Geographic Information Sciences (GIScience), Movement Ecology, Transportation, Criminology, Epidemiology, Computer Gaming, and Phylogenetics. This panel will discuss current research problems, newly developed methodologies, and research gaps in the area of movement analytics, with the focus on movement pattern analysis, visualization, modeling and prediction of movement across multiple scales and in various domains.
