While formalized in government, Geospatial Intelligence is relatively new to academia and private industry. At least sixteen universities have already aligned their curricula to the Geospatial Intelligence Essential Body of Knowledge currently used as a common framework for industry needed competencies from essentials to expertise levels. This presentation will outline a comprehensive model for building discipline specific competencies from the K-12 up to professional careers. The model was built with support from academic, government and industry leaders and links k-12, higher education, and certification in an emerging profession.
