With the development of the society, the contradiction between the limitation of ecological carrying capacity and the growing demand for resource has received the widespread attention. This article calculated the ecological footprint and carrying capacity of Fangxian county in 2012 and 2014, and further compared their compositions and change trends, based on the ecological footprint model. On the basis of this, three indexes were calculated to analyze the state of regionally sustainable development from the aspect of per capita GDP, ecological coordination and ecological pressure. The results showed that compositions of the per capita ecological footprint and the carrying capacity in 2012 and 2014 did not change, and the largest proportion is grassland, cultivated land and forest land, cultivated land, respectively. The total per capita ecological footprint increased slightly, while the per capita ecological carrying capacity tenderly declined. The ecological capacity was integrally surplus. On the premise of accelerated economic development, optimizing and adjusting the structure of land use and industry and adhering to the concept of green development is proposed to achieve the regional sustainable development in view of the current situation.
