With the increase of China's infrastructure investment, fast construction of railway engineering highlights gradually to the land resources occupied and damage problem. Scientifically formulate the temporary land reclamation project has an important role to mitigate the problem, and the reclamation suitability evaluation is mainly based on the guidance of temporary land reclamation work. This paper takes the new construction of Wuhan-Jiujiang railway, from north of Daye to Yangxin section’s abandoned large temporary facilities as an example, respectively established index system, introduced paddy land, dry land, garden land, and woodland four species reclamation direction as "Reference model". Using the Grey Target model to have reclamation suitability evaluation, and comparing with the evaluation results of comprehensive index model. The research results show that Grey Target model is completely applicable to the temporary land reclamation suitability evaluation, and the evaluation result is better than the comprehensive index model. According to the Grey Target Model evaluation results, 21.56hm2 paddy land,6.73hm2 dry land,3.35 hm2 woodlands will be reclamed to 8.57hm2 paddy land, 16.18hm2 dry land,7.26hm2 garden land. The rate of arable land being reclaimed to arable land is 87.50%, the rate of woodland being reclaimed to garden land is 100.00%, the rate of temporary land being reclaimed to original land grade or higher land grade is 48.37%.The Grey Target Model has its own advantages and using scope, it needs to choose the proper evaluation method based to the evaluation objective and data information in order to ensure the evaluation result is scientific
