In this paper we compare the different geographies of urban and rural gentrification in the UK, at the lebvel of output area. We use a distinctive typology to explore social class differentials in geographies of gentrification It is shown that there are similarities which span rural and urban realms of gentrification, with distinct social class in both rural and urban locations. We therefore consider the salience of these common patterns for broader conceptualisations of urban and rural gentrification, and contemporary meanings of urban and rural change.
