Previous research has proved that the urban transitional zone is related to crime data. In this term paper, I want to discuss how different crime types are related with transitional zone in Cincinnati. This research applies crime data in Cincinnati in 2012. Five crime types include burglary, robbery, domestic violence, assault, and theft. The transitional zone is extracted by NPP-VIIRS nightlight data through edge detection. The study area will be the main place where overlaps most crimes in Cincinnati. I assume that different crime types have significantly different results through linear regression with transitional zone.
