Migration is the regular and consistent seasonal movement along a specific flyway along the north and south axis. Migratory birds are faced with several dangers as they traverse the European continent to their African destination. Some of the challenges they faced are the loss of forest biodiversity, unsafe stopover sites , increased demand in pet trade industries and collision with urban utility infrastructures such as power lines, telecommunication towers. The East Atlantic flyway is an important route for migratory birds that traverse the coastal cities of Western Africa in which Nigeria provides important stopover locations.
