Global Energy Networks: Concept, Connotation and Spatial Organization Mechanism

In this paper, we propose a new framework for the study of energy geography——the research paradigm of energy networks. A series are not very accurate concepts (but they can make up for understanding of the complex energy system) will be put out, such as: global energy networks, energy power, equity correlation, energy agent and so on. In a nutshell, our study is proceeding in the framework of evolutionary economics geography and energy geography.The research content is set as follows: firstly, world's major listed energy companies and energy traders (State agent, supranational agent, trans-state agent) are treated as the research subject, and method of complex network are used to setting up the global energy networks. Secondly, the evolution pattern and structure characteristic and its influencing factors of the energy network would be discussed based on multidimensional proximity. Thirdly, based on identifying key influence factors of energy network evolution and their effect on the transmission path, multi-factors comprehensive interpretation and spatial organization mechanism of the global energy network would be unfolded.
