This poster was designed to demonstrate how new drone technology can especially be beneficial at larger construction sites. The imagery can aid in the examination of earth removal and the earthen relocation with the calculation of both. The drone imagery can also gather the topographical overview of the site and the comparison of the beginning and finished highway to mention a few examples. This particular site was a 100% federally funded four-lane highway that stretched 11 miles from the Northern end of the Meyersdale Bypass in Summit Township to the Southern end of the existing US219 four-lane in Somerset Township. Construction began in the spring of 2013 and recently was completed in November of 2018. This was a $236 million dollar project overseen by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
