Description

Hurricanes Florence and Michael recently devastated the southeast United States and caused major damage to coastal regions, particularly along the southern North Carolina coast. The damages and environmental changes associated with these events is still in the early stages of assessment. Examining the impacts these storms had on coastal communities requires the use of interdisciplinary research bridging the natural and social sciences to fully understand the implications. This session is focused on geographic studies from all disciplines examining the physical, economic, or social results of hurricane damage along the coast.
