The Israeli occupation of Palestine has recently passed a number of significant anniversaries: 100 years since the Balfour Declaration; 70 years continuation of the Nakba; 50 years of military occupation; and 25 years since the Oslo Peace Accords were to establish the conditions for a sovereign Palestinian state. To mark these anniversaries, this session brings together geographical research on Palestine and occupation organised around the past, present and future. Contributions are orientated around:: i) legacies of violent histories; ii) contemporary practices of colonial governing, resistance and getting-by; and iii) fears and hopes around the future of Palestine.
