This session highlights progress in research that addresses the multi-faceted dimensions of water insecurity experiences at the household scale. This is the first of several sessions that emphasize major themes and approaches in this emerging interdisciplinary communities of practice. This session will focus on research that relates to the global research project to develop a cross-culturally validated scale for household water insecurity -- "HWISE Scale." This session profiles research findings drawn from the HWISE global data set and HWISE Scale. These papers will address a broad range of interdisciplinary analyses that demonstrate the application of the scale to a variety of problems. Researchers in this session are contributors to the HWISE dataset and part of the NSF-funded HWISE RCN.
This paper session is part of a larger set of activities during the AAG to broaden participation and engagement with the recently NSF-funded Household Water Insecurity Experiences Research Coordination Network (HWISE RCN). For more information on the HWISE RCN, please check out the website hwise-rcn.org.
