Abstract: In the summer of 2008, a complete inventory of trees was conducted in the parks of West Chester Borough, Pennsylvania, located in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. At that time there were eight small parks with less than fifty trees each. In 2019, we performed a resurvey on the same eight small parks in order to quantify changes in the tree population, species composition, and associated environmental benefits. We utilized Collector for ArcGIS, a field data collection application, to map the trees, and the peer-reviewed i-Tree ECO software program for analysis. We also input the 2008 data into the i-Tree ECO Forecast model to compare predicted changes in the urban forest with what changes actually occurred over the eleven years between surveys. Statistical tests were run to ascertain the significance of these changes over time.
