Characteristic of geography is its combination of natural- and social-science perspectives. Herein lies the great potential for transformative education, namely the building of bridges across different disciplines. The lecture outlines demands for transformative learning in the context of education on sustainable development. The possible contribution of geography will be presented and then illustrated by the practical example “Climate ChangeS Cities", which constitutes a possibility to show how climate change communication may be implemented in educational practice.
