The aim of this study is to examine the connection between the concept of Social Death and the development and design of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). For this project, Social Death is to be understood as the condition in which an entity is not considered fully human by broader society. My research will consider how the concept of Social Death has been embedded into the programming and engineering goals of AGI. To explore this connection, I will systematically interrogate texts relating to Social Death, Colonialism, Afro-pessimism, and Artificial General Intelligence.
