For about a decade I have taught an online class in world geography. I have now posted the core files from that course on a public site (worldgeographyonline.com), which I will review in this presentation. In general, the organization of the files is profoundly traditional, with attention to physical, economic, cultural, political, and environmental geography. The content of each file is equally traditional, by which in this case I mean militantly factual, as each file is a linked compilation of visual materials from government websites, newspapers, Google maps, and even--be still my heart!--Wikipedia. Printed, the files run to about 4,000 pages, which I believe qualifies as monumental. Whether they are useful is another matter. De gustibus, etc.
