As the Internet economy swept around China as a new engine for consumption and capital redistribution, another dimension associated with the geographical scope of economic activity in China has been extended by the implementation of newly developed media, software and crowdsourcing devices, the temporal scope of economic activities during the night, night economy. The paper examines the origin, the development of night economy in China since the heatwave of Internet economy in 2000s. A theoretical framework to analyse the function of night economy on the geographical perspective of China's new economic development has also been introduced. It unveils the new development path for China's intensifying multiplicity of economic landscapes and fosters a new research scope to interpret the spatial-temporal realm brought by the hybrid lifestyle and rising bourgeois class in the world's largest emerging economy.
