Remote Sensing and photogrammetry enable first responders to capture a scene in its entirety by acquiring digital images of the scene and utilizing photogrammetric techniques to generate 3D representations of reality. This supports the ongoing investigation of a scene and can provide a higher level of context to an incident compared to traditional incident procedures. The 3D deliverables generated from Pix4Dmapper are compared to measurements acquired at the scene to demonstrate the accuracy and reliability of the generated reconstruction. This is critical when using these deliverables as admitted evidence in court. Often first responders run into issues performing the best practices image acquisition for the incident. This paper serves to clearly identify critical field methods for capturing images for typical first responder scenes and the general workflow for processing these datasets.
