The University of Richmond in collaboration with Virginia Tech is working to engage Rural Virginia Localities by facilitating training and support for using the newly collected high resolution USGS elevation LiDAR dataset. The goal is development of useful strategies for rural Virginia communities to leverage and integrate LiDAR technology and data products to benefit community based applications such as public safety, emergency management, forestry, wetlands, etc. This session will cover an overview of our training methodology as well as successes, challenges and opportunities for the future.
