The aim of the project „World2Go“ is the earth habitat. The project is based on a tablet PC guided mobile learning on stages. Pupils will be enabled to travel virtually through the earth’s climate zones and deal with current issues relating to local climate modifications, adapting the location of plants, crops and soils. This mobile learning arrangement is designed in a interdisciplinary way so that geographic and ecological issues can be dealt with. At the same time scientific work methods are prepared and carried out in a student-oriented manner. The tasks created for the respective stations and topics of the different climate zones are designed in a way that different types of work orders are used and sensory perceptions are addressed.
On a preparatory step, a continuing education of teachers can be attended in advance to get prepared for the mobile learning stages, get to know excerpts from them and practice using digital media for themselves. This is to establish the use of digitally supported geobotany-boxes in the classroom and to ensure that teachers can react properly to error messages and problems in the implementation phase. In addition, this mobile learning stages should encourage teachers to increase the use of digital media in the classroom.
