New Mexico State University recently acquired an ASD FieldSpec 4 Hi-Res High Resolution Spectroradiometer with various accessories through a National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentation Program grant. As part of the University's effort to meet the Program's goal of increasing multi-user access to the instrument for research and research training, the Department of Geography is now offering a course on "Spectroscopy and Remote Sensing". This poster presents the challenges and opportunities of teaching and learning in such a specialized course with limited instrumentation and a diverse group of students.
