Crime geography and crime analysis involve multiple disciplines such as geography, criminology, sociology, psychology, computer science, law, planning, etc. The recent trend on convergence research, combining transdisciplinary research and synergy on stakeholders, has presented new opportunities to crime geography. What can crime geographers do to take advantages of this trend? This session will focus on crime geography and spatial analysis of crime. Studies that take advantage of big data, geo-simulation, machine learning, data fusion and other latest spatial modeling techniques are covered in the session. Issues pertaining to crime patterns, associations, explanatory and predictive modeling, crime prevention, intelligent policing, and evaluation are all within the scope of this organized session. Comparisons of crime across multiple cities from various countries around the world are featured as well.
