This 75-min. workshop is intended for anyone (students, educators, faculty, professionals) who wants to understand (1) for what purposes computer programming is being used in our discipline and (2) what the basics are to get started, and (3) what computational thinking means within the discipline of geography. Women and underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to attend.
This is part of a series of activities related to AAG’s Encoding Geography Initiative, a long-term commitment to support the teaching of computational thinking at all levels of geography education in a way that is inclusive.
