There is a need to actively recruit students into our geography programs. First offered at the 2019 AAG Regional Division meetings, this workshop covers strategies and resources to help your geography program recruit and advise students. The workshop draws on suggestions of those in the regional division workshops and resources from several sources at a variety of scales. Participants will:
- Apply spatial thinking to recruitment strategies
- Learn about student recruitment and retention suggestions on and off campus
- Understand social media as a tool for recruitment
- Familiarize themselves with AAG active education research and funding opportunities
- Develop an Actionable Recruitment Plan
