Based on the theoretical framework of complexity, this paper suggests new approach and alternative of political ecology in this world of glocalization as a neologism and contradiction of the global and the local. Since there has been no significant contribution of glocalization, the paper relates this conceptual trend to complexity theory to provide better understanding of global encroachment to local areas or local counteraction against globalized world. Political ecology, which investigates local environmental and ecological impacts of global political economy, in conclusion, needs to go in parallel with this cross-scalar perspectives by being combined with the ideas of complexity and glocalization.
