Data provides a means to represent and control an increasingly complex and uncertain world. Climate change, biosecurity, human disease, inequality; our attempts to know and solve these significant problems depend on practices of data collection, processing and dissemination. Data is no neutral intermediary, consequently this session brings together scholars that are questioning what data does in acts of agri-environmental world defining and making.
