With more than half of the world’s population presently living in urban areas, much of the demand for Food, Water and Energy (FWE) occurs in cities. Cities are concerned about sustainable social, environmental and economic development; therefore, risks and vulnerabilities related to energy, food, and water supply are high priority considerations. This session will explore research and applications related to the Food-Water-Energy (FWE) nexus in urban settings.

Possible topics for this session for may include but are not limited to:

• Data in support of Food-Water-Energy nexus research and applications
• Methods for the analysis of the Food-Water-Energy nexus
• Integrated nexus modeling
• Mapping and visualization of the Food-Water-Energy nexus
• Citizen Science and Urban Living Labs for Food-Water-Energy nexus
• Applications of decision support systems
• Food-Water-Energy nexus governance and policy
• Participatory scenario building and integrative science-stakeholder dialog to integrated nexus modeling
