Geographers are well positioned for careers in our increasingly globalized society. Working in an international setting can be highly rewarding, providing opportunities to expand your network, gain professional experience, and learn important life skills. At the same time, life abroad will pose unique challenges in the post-COVID-19 era, including navigating the work authorization process and pandemic-related travel restrictions, locating suitable openings, being far from home, and adjusting to new settings, cultures, and languages.

Panelists with a wide range of international work experiences will share their stories and discuss challenges, opportunities, and career preparation strategies for working abroad. Time will be reserved to address questions and topics raised by members of the audience.

Both North Americans looking to work overseas and international geographers seeking careers in North America are encouraged to participate in this session.
