The Black Geographies Specialty Group would like to invite social movement subject experts to share their research on protests. In this panel, we would like to broaden the discussion and include scholarly voices on different aspects of protest activities, including local, regional, and global. This panel discussion is an opportunity to share specialized case studies and research findings relating to themes such as:
• The intersections between space, place and resistance, and Blackness
• Mobilization, resistance, Blackness, and identity
• Cultural, political, economic impacts of social movements
• Decolonial perspectives on social movements
• Creating visual representations of social movements and Blackness
